Partly, I believe any OS including Windows, Linux, etc have problem to parse
the _PSD object on your laptop. Because it has wrong implementation.

Yeah, mostly. If you have interest, you can read ACPI specification.

As for BIOS upgrade, I'm afraid I can't do any further help. You have to be on 
your
own and at your own risk.
