hello,
on my laptop, i'm always using suspend-resume, but i cannot use serial:

henry at delljm:~$ tip -9600 /dev/term/a
tip: unknown host /dev/term/a

and messages:
Nov 25 17:58:18 delljm genunix: [ID 583038 kern.notice] System has been
resumed.
Nov 25 17:58:54 delljm mac: [ID 435574 kern.info] NOTICE: bge0 link up,
100 Mbps, full duplex
Nov 25 18:02:29 delljm asy: [ID 267298 kern.notice] asy0: UART @ 3f8
scratch register: expected 0x5a, got 0xff
Nov 25 18:02:29 delljm asy: [ID 702181 kern.notice] Cannot identify UART
chip at 3f8

if i reboot the laptop, it works:
henry at delljm:~$ tip -9600 /dev/term/a
connected

Is it possible to repair it without rebooting? suspend-resume is an
essential feature

My config: os2008.11 snv_101a

thanks,

gerard
