I think this is a very neat feature. I would prefer though if it doesn't use a separate configuration file. If it is for setting TIME_TO_HIBERNATE only, I'd rather prefer if it would use the common mechanism by dropping a file in /etc/pm/config.d. I also think, that ideally such setting is configured with a GUI in the desktop session. Maybe it would make sense to extend DK-power/gnome-power-manager, so such options can be configured within g-p-m and passed down to pm-suspend (via a command line switch).
