I guess you're talking about v3.1.0 because before categories had no
checkboxes. In 'toc.js' substitute line 198 with the following:
if (_$('spxg_' + (grp.id.replace(/ginput_/, ''))).className == 'vis') {
then it should work also with underscores in the group name. It might
not work if the layer name starts with a number, though.
