errors created automatically by PHP are still written to the error log defined in php.ini. The error logging specific to p.mapper is also done to that file for critical errors. For all minor errors a pm_debug.log file is created under the same subdirectory as the PHP error log. 3 is the maximum debugging level, 0 only for critical errors where you very likely will get an additional PHP error.
