The split function in initmap.php splits the allGroups from the 
config.ini also with blanks. So modify this or do not use allGroups in 
config.ini. Then try to remove peu a peu all the Javascript errors that 
appear because of the blanks using a good JS debugger. Some functions 
might not work at all without bigger code inspections/modifications.

You will have to do that every time you upgrade to a new pm version, or 
at least put all the JS files with your modifications into the 
config/.../ directory (as of v3.1).
