Inspired by Ivan's mail I had again a look at how to get p.mapper into a deb package (a first glance a while ago was slightly deterrent so I gave up then...). Some fine tuning might be necessary but you can try it now getting it via the description at
http://www.pmapper.net/download.shtml It works both for Debian (tried with etch) and Ubuntu (tried with 6.06). Using apt, also all dependencies should be resolved.
