In the web free cron job server exists (like
http://www.selfphp.de/cronjobs/index.php#kostenlos ). There can you
daily surf to a special homepage (like
http://www.example.de/selfphp_cronjob_daily.php )
And for a free webcrob service in English:
http://webcron.org/index.php
Just set-up the backup email script and then get the webcron to access it
daily, or however often you want to backup.
