Probably PmWiki Philosophy #3: Avoid gratuitous features. And I'm perfectly happy that WikiStylesPlus is a recipe, and not in the core, because I don't need it for most of my wikis (I've only added it to one of them) and I don't want PmWiki to succumb to creeping featurism.
