In reviewing the BasicEditing page, what I think really needs to happen is that we take the \, \\, and \\\ markups out of the "General usage" section at the top of the page and move them somewhere else. Visually the descriptions of \, \\, and \\\ eat up more space than the information about blank lines starting a new paragraph, and thus makes it appear as though they are more common/important (when the reverse is true). So, I think the information about \\ should go somewhere later in the page where it will be much less prominent.
