Hello all, after a while I'm finally back into PmWiki business.
At the end of 2005 I had some ideas what features I would like in a blogging setup using PmWiki. Many of those required specialized PHP extensions to PmWiki. After a long time without using PmWiki I just came back and noticed that you can do nearly all of it by using only PmWiki's core features - pagelists to be exact. The idea behind this is not new. BlogWithPageList and BlogSimple2 have similar if not exactly the same ideas behind them. So why am I posting a new recipe into the Cookbook doing just that? Because I did not want to follow an existing recipe and probably block my creative ideas too early by restrictions - and get to know PmWiki more again :). What can it do? * display a number of entries on the blog homepage * display date based "archives" using pages like o "2007" - overview of all posts from that year, o "2007-08" - overview of all posts from that month, o "2007-08-12" - overview of all posts for that day * templated overview and detail pages, so you don't have to update all entries when changing the layout * tag entries using the PmWiki Categories I voted to put the date into the page names because I hope that PmWiki filters the pagelists a lot faster than using the last changed date in a page variable or similar. Have a look at http://www.pmwiki.org/wiki/Cookbook/BalusBlog and discuss it on http://www.pmwiki.org/wiki/Cookbook/BalusBlog-Talk Balu _______________________________________________ pmwiki-users mailing list [email protected] http://www.pmichaud.com/mailman/listinfo/pmwiki-users
