Patrick said that he hopes to publish the next beta release within this or next week. You should note that the current beta is at least as stable as the "stable" 2.1.27 so it is really recommended to use it now for new installations. It has a lot of new features too, and some major but very usefull changes in page variables. On the other hand, at the PmWiki Road map [1] there are some more features planned for the "2.2 stable" series which need yet to be written; that is the only reason the current beta 2.2.63 is "beta", not stability. Note that, a beta older than 4-6 days is usually fairly stable (no new bugs have been found), this is really not a bad thing.
