Another point, speaking as a parent. This method will give credit only to the kid who was logged in when the entry was typed. Kids are notorious for sharing passwords and letting others use their accounts. They won't admit to doing it, but hanging around after school, ostensibly watching your own kid, can be informative. It gives no credit to the kid who had the idea or helped with the wording or supported another's idea or bothered to get a book from the library. Some kids are more comfortable at the keyboard. Some are too shy to commit to something more permanent, especially something shared. (Requiring each person to enter a certain amount may get past the shyness, or they might enter only stuff they feel safe with.) Still, the person who did the typing should get credit for doing the typing (and any deleting or editing). Also, if one of them decides to deface it, you will know which one (although you might not catch the kids who put him up to it.) Ah, the joys of grading. All data is useful, but more, of as many types as possible, is always needed.
