Try fmt=#bygrouptitle as described there : http://www.pmwiki.org/wiki/Cookbook/PagelistTemplateSamples (down in the page)Copy paste the formatting code in your Site/LocalTemplates ; then fmt=#bygrouptitle is defined and working for any pagelist.
