Thanks for the tip. Turns out that yes, you can split anchors across two
lines, but in testing that I realized a line-break is needed after the \\ .
So, rather than
this is a\\really long line
I need to do
this is a\\
really long line
One of those silly things. I get used to ignoring line breaks, then hit
a place they're needed.
