I had a number of instances of PmWiki open, one of which was set up for off- line updates using the pmwikiserv. this was where the recipe failed. When I got home I set up a clean instance at http://classic- sf.com/test/pmwiki.php and it seems to work well after I cleared up the permissions on the folders.
