Just to mention what I have seen recently in another little flat file wiki : LionWiki has a sectionedit driven by sort of personal ajax that may be worth looking for someone interested in another editing approach (and programming literate). Don't know how it is working though. Is done as a plugin to be found in the complete package, download section.
