Just to clarify a common misconception (and perhaps prevent it from being repeated further): The rel="nofollow" attribute does not require a search engine to not follow the link. Many search engines (including Google) still follow links marked with rel="nofollow". The nofollow attribute simply indicates that the link is not to be accorded any weight in ranking calculations. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nofollow#Interpretation_by_the_individual_search_engines for more details. PmWiki defaults to adding rel='nofollow' to local links to non-existent pages, which explains why many of the sidebar links have rel="nofollow".
