Hi Ville,
I gather from your inquiry to Petko below that the WYSIWYG feature is important for you and/or your clients,
just as it is for me and a lot of other PmWiki list members, who responded in the discussion of this feature at the end of March. But from Petko progress report, it sounds like it may take some time before its available for PmWiki.
What's your assessment of the situation after you have looked at the files linked on demo page that Petko suggested?
Do you think there could be a way to split up the work that Petko indicated, among a number of people, so we could speed up the process? Do you know such people who who might be capable of doing separate pieces of this project?
Do you have any other thoughts on how we could expedite the incorporation of the WYSIWYG feature in PmWiki?

At the demo page www.pmwiki.org/WTF there is a link to the files.

It hasn't progressed much. There are a number of technical difficulties about
fixing bugs in the _javascript_ editor, integrating the rich text in the wiki
page, working with existing wiki pages, working with mixed richtext/wikitext
pages, upgrading/downgrading, working with page sections, working with
uploads/files/attachments, autosuggesting internal links etc. Once the
difficulties overcome, it should be a piece of cake. :-)
At the moment nobody is paid to work on this feature, so there are no contract
deadlines. It will progress as fast as I find "free" time and I decide to
spend it working on the RichText editor instead of doing something else. :-)
That said, I very much appreciated all the comments and ideas that people on
the list gave me. I'll use them.
Thanks,
Petko
