I both use Cyberduck [1] on Mac and FileZilla [2] in Linux, both of
which proved to be reliable software.
"Regular" ftp connections stay open for a long time. But this is, I
guess, a different case: the system tries to list all files in the
folder, and then it times out.
I both tried to a) open the folder into the ftp client or b) move the
entire folder to my desktop.
No way.

I just got, again (from FileZilla):

   Error: Connection timed out
Error: Failed to retrieve directory listing

I then tried to increase timeout settings on FileZilla, but then I get
this error:

Response: 421 Too many connections from this IP

I'm afraid I'm stuck :-(

I feel that via php one could tell the server to trash all those files
marked as "delete"...
Am I wrong?

Luigi
