Hello,

I have recently upgraded pmwiki from 2.2.19 to 2.2.31 to obtain certain
features. It seems, however, to have damaged one of my most useful cookbook
recipes, Autosave.

It used to work perfectly, but I now have a few very damaging effects:

* Although, at start of editing a new page, things look normal
(checkbox active, text "autosave enabled"), after the fist autosave, the
checkbox becomes unactive, but the text still mentions "Autosave OK".

* Although the changes are saved in the Page-Draft (can be seen in the
history), when you do a preview I the edit, the text in the edit box sometimes
reverts to an incomplete change (this is a really deadly bug, probably due to
the fact that the autosave starts randomly).

* After that, autosave is off, the checkbox is inactive and no way to
re-enable it.

* Because there is an inconsistent status, I have noticed also that
sometimes whenever you try a "save draft and exit", you get revision marks as
if two different people had tried to save the page "at the same time"

I have looked at the release notes, but have not found anything that would
prevent autosave from working as before. Any suggestions ?

Thanks in advance,

Philippe
