I solved the problem (not knowing how and what was wrong) by copying all to
my local
xampp webserver, with pmwiki-2.2.39 ,,, testing hier and uploading worked
again?
Maybe the host-server had this morning problems ...???

Can you tell us how you set the password for the specific site/sites
(whether its a sitewide password in config.php, etc.)
