Yes. If it contains a new line, [@...@] becomes <pre> and whitespace is
preserved, if not, it is wrapped in <code>. In both cases the markup is not
processed. The other one, [=...=] is just returned as-is without processing
the markup and without wrapping it in tags.
and (2) which is the preferred name...
