Hello, all;

Wanting to share my joy; especially with Stephanie and Petko, who took the time
to respond and interact concerning my last posting. We have now completed an
easy to use UTF-8 chat based upon Microchat. All non-Roman fonts are
interpreted.

This is the result of my successful collaboration with Josiah at Oxford
University, quite possibly facilitated by the good works of my family in
London, particularly my nephew Dr. John Jeans, MD; newly married to Shukri
(blessings, please).

Hang on (a few hours) while I post it on easy-to-copy html pages; we're in the
middle of a veritable catastrophe here (please, read the notice I posted on my
website and reproduced below).

Please! Piero, Piero, hear me...

This (actually, my) website is run from Princeton, New Jersey; dead center in
the area stricken by the superstorm. It is no laughing matter; no heat, no
light and no food. Most people are totally unprepared for this.

The power-outage may go on for a week or longer, in places; while the weather
grows colder, with more stormy weather in the forecast for next week.

Please give us, now; especially to the elderly, your prayers and miracles.

Your friend,

John

 I was afraid of that.

I'm writing a draft for the host support ticket now, complete with temp
accounts on the site. Don't know if it will help them or not.

I'll also take them off the "PmWiki friendly host" page on pmwiki.org,
or at least mention the problem.

Would Clean URLs make a difference? I don't remember which method I used
for them. I have another account with the same host that's still fine,
but doesn't use Clean URLs or farms or subdomains.
t this point you might want to just do a quick clean install in a new
irectory, and see what happens. That will at least tell you if it's
mWiki or some cookbooks, etc.

If the problem is mod_security, enabling or disabling CleanUrls will have no
ffect, the two are not related.

Success!
I just got a reply from the host:
----------------------
an you please try again? It seems that the issue was caused due to
od_Security. We have disabled it now and we are not getting any 406
rror. Can you please check and confirm from your end?
---------------------
It's now working fine.
I wouldn't have known what to ask them if not for the help from this
roup. It was a real team effort!
(Petko -- thanks for the info about CleanURLs. I was worried they'd
pend time on one theory, only realize CleanURLs were complicating the
ssue.)

 I'm running pmwiki-2.2.42 .

I haven't touched the SideBar in years. I edited several other pages
 tonight with no problem.

 Any ideas?

 Thanks,

 Sandy

Hi,
Who could give me an idea:
The (:commentbox: ) shows up in the corresponding place, so that is ok .
UT after filling in and sending the page shows the just inserted info and
ants

(e.g.

And asks for SAVING? But a user has no edit-rights?!
