Yes, this is a setting of your browser on how to display fixed size fonts. For Firefox on Ubuntu, you have to go from the menus:
Edit > Preferences > Content > Fonts & colors, click on Advanced, from the drop down menu select Western (if it is not already selected) then after the "Monospace" line select the size, eg. 9. On Windows it is "Tools > Options" instead of "Edit > Preferences" IIRC. For other browsers, if it is hard to find, look at their documentation...
