Indeed, it seems that Google will (sort of) filter out websites that are not mobile-friendly from search results starting April 21, 2015[1] And true, really a lot of people today (too many to be ignored) use mobile phones to browse websites, so it does make sense to have easy readable pages, no matter what Google says. Testing side by side pmwiki.org[2] and wikipedia.org[3] clearly tells the difference. Perhaps solving the basic css needs in the default skin is not too hard, I do not know.
