After the voting rights scandal in Florida in election 2000, where
large numbers of people, mostly African-American, were denied their
Constitutional privilege and right to vote and the Florida NAACP released
this damning statement and call to action which has yet to be answered
almost four years later.

NULLIFYING THE WILL OF THE PEOPLE
When the Florida Secretary of State threw out all recounts in Palm Beach
she nullified the "will of the people." When Dade County refused to
proceed with the recount after a partial sample count disclosed problems
in the count under pressure from Bush led forces to close it down, they
also nullified the "will of the people."
When the Board in Dade County allowed themselves to be intimidated by the
Bush goon squad, this also nullified the "will of the people."
When the registrar in Seminole County allowed Republicans to _ALTER_
absentee ballots in that county, and told Democrats to "take a hike", she
nullified the "will of the people."
AND, when Nassau County threw out recounts of 57 votes for Gore and
accepted a previous tally that nullified the "will of the people."
There were plenty of valid reasons why the Supreme Court should have ordered
another RECOUNT or a REVOTE as a result of the REPUBLICANS trying to STEAL
THIS ELECTION FOR BUSH.
