Time for a reality check!
Itemizing problems in the world and society does not fix them. Writing
legislators is of dubious value. I used to work as intermediary between the
public and the legislators. They usually answer to other forces and influences
other than what might be called common sense opinions. Writing them can be
compared to telling Junior to clean up his room. The major political parties
also have agendas that may be quite removed from the doorstep of the average
person.
Hence, if what is happening in society represents the will and intent of the
majority, then it is rather futile to rail against it. If it is NOT the will of
the majority, then the present system of government is not working. If we
assume the latter, it is not the democratic system that is failing. It is the
failure of the people to use it correctly. The CSC program provides for the
citizens to form their own quasi-legislature of independent thinkers which
could then pull the real legislature into line regardless of which party is in
power. Otherwise, it is all talk and no action.
