The Nazis did not at first have a plan to murder all the Jews. They tried and wanted to get rid of them. They offered them to the rest of the world and the countries of the world with their immigration quotas refused to take them - some for the same reasons the Nazis did not want them. Zionists entered an agreement with Germany to take them, but Germany said they would have to pay, especially since the economic boycott of Germany was hurting them. The Zionist organizations eventually were able to transfer 60,000 Jews to Israel, saving them from sure death. They have been criticized for this and much more has been made of it when the blame should without a doubt be placed on the countries of the world who refused to take them. Earlier waves of immigrants to Israel went as pioneers - many to farm, taught by the Baron Rothschild school and teachers sponsored by Rothschild to improve the land. Earlier waves were religious, including Kabbalists who settled mostly in the Safat area, but many through successive waves were going there to farm and those who came as part of the transfer from German went to do anything they could - and many did live in outposts, which have been referred to as settlements and they formed communities where some were managers, some were farmers, some were merchants, etc. Hank See Edwin Black who has written many books about IBM and punch cards used by Nazis and the Transfer AGreement and Euphenasia (all separate and excellent books).
