I am having difficulty configuring my SB Vibra16 PnP Sound Card. I
am using the 2.0.33 kernel and I patched it with the appropriate pnp
patch. I had only one rej file (init/main.c) which I manually fixed.
I configured the kernel for sound, made dep, made clean, made zdisk,
made modules, and made modules_install. Upon rebooting I typed cat
/dev/sndstat and all the devices were in parentheses indicating that
they weren't detected. I compiled the kernel with sound built in and as
a module (typing modprobe -a sound trace_init=1 for this case, with no
devices being listed) to no avail. I configured the kernel with the
default sound resources, the resources suggested in the SB Sound How-To,
and the resources used by Win95 (with which everything works fine).
Most of the sound card works fine when warm booting. The Sound Blaster
is integrated onto the motherboard, would this cause a problem? Is it
really ISA then? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
