Hi there, I'm Andreas Kloeckner, maintainer of PyOpenCL. I reported this bug last night:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/pocl/+bug/1038863 I'd love to help you test pocl. In order for this to be easy (and therefore doable within my time constraints), it'd be very useful if that above bug could be fixed, which would allow testing pocl without having to rebuild PyOpenCL. In addition, to avoid requiring ugly workarounds, clGetMemObjectInfo and clGetKernelInfo would need to be implemented--at least partially. PyOpenCL may also be useful to you because it contains a fairly comprehensive test suite and a number of slightly non-trivial kernels, including scan, reduction, stream compaction, and sort. There appears to be a non-negligible user base behind PyOpenCL, many of which might be good testers, based on their skill level. (The package has been download about 66k times so far, and there are binary pacakges of it available for most Linux distributions and Windows.) I'm mainly writing to get the dialog going and see if there's interest on your side in getting the two projects to work well together. Looking forward to hearing from you, Andreas ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Live Security Virtual Conference Exclusive live event will cover all the ways today's security and threat landscape has changed and how IT managers can respond.
