There's no technical reason - just so far no one has needed it
hard enough to spend the time to implement it.

Now its implementation should be easier as we call LLVM
APIs directly. Previously with the shell script based
LLVM flow it was more of an hassle. That's probably
one of the reasons it has been postponed.

Our research project does not need it at the moment, so I cannot
promise arrival dates for this API from our (CPC/TUT) side yet.

So, I guess this boils down to the usual dull open source
response: Patches welcome! :)
