Darn - I was hoping to gte a major speedup out of that. I got
almost a 10X speedup alone merely from modifying the code to
do <$fh> instead of $fh->getline when possible.
Last time I looked at it, methods calls were one of the main
bottlenecks in Pod::Parser, but that was before 5.005_003. If
thats not the main offender anymore - then some serious
performance work is needed just to analyze and identify the
"hot spots"
