Aren't we --yet again-- trying to bend an inherently simple markup
format into something that it is not intended for, and not capable of?
POD is meant to be simple, easily written, and easily understood even
without a particular rendering. It is _not_ suitable for anything more
than very basic man pages or simple web pages.
If you want typesetting, use LaTeX or something similar. Don't try it
with POD.
