I misspoke.  It's:
     L<"die" in perlfunc|perlfunc/die>
     L<"Theory of MIMEs"|"Theory of MIMEs">

The examples in perlpodspec have it right:

  L<name>         =>  L<name|name>
  L</section>     =>  L<"section"|/section>
  L<name/section> =>  L<"section" in name|name/section>
