Features from versions up to 1.7. In particular, PDF 1.5 object streams are supported. PoDoFo doesn't do much at all with content streams, which is where most of the interesting things in PDF happen. PoDoFo's support is more solid around PDF 1.3 / 1.4 / 1.5 . It's possible to work with and use more advanced PDF features directly by using the simple PDF data types like PDFDictionary, PdfObject, PdfStream etc that PoDoFo provides.
