If using g++ directly works and using make doesn't, then I'm guessing that
something is misconfigured within the makefile (that's causing it to invoke
the wrong compiler or something similar).
I don't have good access to my development environment right now, so I
don't have a good way to see myself what might be wrong. You can look at
the makefile yourself, or someone else might be able to help.
