Hi Jared, Personally, I am fine with linking to PoDoFo statically. Don't know if I can speak here for everyone who has contributed. I even think we had this question several times before on this list ...
There are plenty of articles on the net about this confusing situation because of the App-Store and the LGPL.*I* would go and link statically to any library. If someone *really* want's to change the PoDoFo version you link to, you still have the option to distribute your object code, so that anyone can relink to a patched PoDoFo.
