In most cases, the fonts are SUBSET rather than fully embedded. Doing
duplicate elimination of full embed is pretty easy, but subset merge is VERY
hard - which is why only Adobe's libraries offer that option.

Subject: [Podofo-users] Remove duplicated fonts when merging PDFs?

Hi,

Could not find any related information to my question below from the mailing
list archives, I would like to post the question here.

I am using PoDoFo to merge multiple PDF pages into a single one. The issue is
that, each page to be merged contains a piece of information about some
embedded fonts. As such, after the merging, the size of the final page is quite
big because the fonts were embedded several times.

I wonder if there is a way to optimize the merging process in this case (i.e.,
remove duplicated fonts data when merging PDFs) ?

Appreciate your help on this.

thanks,
Amanda
