Hi everybody,

the fourth URL from Kunde is actually my patch that has been committed by you
some weeks ago. So it’s already included. Thing is that there is no new release
for PoDoFo and therefore people using Homebrew don’t get those patches.

Without those patches PoDoFo is broken on all three platforms supported by
Homebrew (Lion, Mountain Lion and Mavericks). With my patches included it does
build and pass the Homebrew tests on Mountain Lion and Mavericks, but still
fails to find the free type library on Lion. I don’t have a Lion installation
available to work on this at the moment. It looks like to have issues with
finding libraries supplied by Apple as part of the OS (which are removed from
ML and Mavericks and therefore provided by Homebrew). The whole
FindFREETYPE.cmake seems to be to get right for all different kinds of OSes.

Some of Uli’s patches are the same as mine (or the same as MacPorts’, where I
took them from). It looks like Uli worked on a PoDoFo release version and
therefore didn’t get the changes already made.

I don’t know which would be the best approach to go on with this. Uli’s
additional patches are certainly a good addition and obviously needed when
using Lua 5.2. But we should keep compatibility with Lua 5.1, too. Otherwise it
wouldn’t work on Homebrew as they are still on Lua 5.1

I can try to setup a test installation for Lion, but IIRC it didn’t work
because my hardware was to new to get that VM to run. I can check again and let
you know, in case I can help with this.

Cheers
Arno
