This declaration of principal is very fine.  It's also in accordance with
TMTOWTDI.  However, I think having some sort of standard would improve
interoperability of the compontents.  Especially if we hack out things
like Object relationships or the monitoring stuff.  But then, I'm probably
dreaming.
