I really really want to see Freenet in Perl. I'd pick that over
Gnutella. I actually started to hack out a Gnutella client last year,
but ran out of tuits and inclination as I'm mostly uninterested in
porno AVIs and Metallica MP3s.
Someone who wrote a Freenet server in Perl would make my year. The
only implementation of Freenet right now is in Java, and my
experiments showed it to be hideous to configure and run. A version
that anyone with Perl could run would rock ...
