i have the sad duty to announce that once again POE reigns supreme at finding perl bugs. We are currently experiencing some problems with 5.8.0 compiled with ithread support.
The problem manifests itself in a few ways. in t/08_errors.t, a message will get dumped to STDERR that looks like " Argument 'Random string here\n' not numeric in comparison at.... ". if you download POE::Session::Cascading, t/multiplicity/dual.t will simply not run at all. It appears the select loop in Kernel.pm is just not happening. What it comes down to is that God himself is confused by these errors. It is confirmed, however, that these problems are not present in 5.8.0 compiled without ithreads. So for the time being, it is suggested that if you wish to run POE on perl5.8.0 that you do not use an ithreaded-perl. ---- Matt Cashner [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://eekeek.org
