POE::Wheel::ReadWrite and IO::Socket::SSL

Greetings.
 
Anyone know why IO::Socket::SSL and POE::Wheel::ReadWrite would refuse
to work together?  I can't get a wheel with a handle of the
IO::Socket::SSL type (with SysRW driver and Stream filter) to emit any
events. Ideas?
