That's certainly an interesting step in the right direction. Aside from
the fact that it doesn't see all the distribution descriptions, however,
there is also the problem that the descriptions themselves are rather
irregular. It may be necessary to maintain an "override" file for the
distributions that don't have usable descriptions.
How hard is it be to update a wiki page from a cron job?
It depends quite a bit on the wiki software you're using. I'm using vi
to edit the *.txt files that support TWiki, but there are a few issues
I had to address along the way. I think you'll have to experiment.
