Their features don't really match up with what POI is versus their product but I find it pretty interesting. They seem to lag a little behind us, I suspect they probably get their excel support by "innovating" from our sources. Last time I went, they couldn't even generate an excel spreadsheet from scratch. Now they can. They still can't do any formulas, etc, though. I'm wondering what the full featureset is. Anyhow, I think this is a great sign and mark of success for the project. While $1000 bucks a CPU is way less than Actuate's $15K, its still a great deal more than POI and too much for what it does in my opinion. At some point I hope some folks do more constructive comparisons (including *real* features that are applicable to POI like "formula support" or what have you) between POI and other commecial/non-commercial products. I'd love to have that on our site somewhere. -Andy -- http://www.superlinksoftware.com - software solutions for business http://jakarta.apache.org/poi - Excel/Word/OLE 2 Compound Document in Java http://krysalis.sourceforge.net/centipede - the best build/project structure a guy/gal could have! - Make Ant simple on complex Projects!
