Hey avik, can you post again? ;-)

I do agree that poi users are usually developers, so a separate user and dev
lists for discussion does not make sense, so closing poi-user and moving all
discussion to poi-dev would be a good idea.

yes

I however think that there probably should be a separate list for the default
bugzilla and cvs mails.

no. I'd start ignoring CVS and bugzilla in that case ;-)

While i personally am and would continue to be subscribed to all POI lists, i
have found from experience of many of the dev lists here at apache when you just
want to follow along with the progress of development, a high volume of
automated mails distract from that. A case in point, i have been a lurker on the
ant dev lists for about three years (ie, since its inception), but decided to
unsubscribe recently (even after trying gmane) since the barrage of bugzilla
emails made is impossible for me to keep track of any development conversation.

We 10 on a busy day, and that is really rare. I prefer to late refactor this. I don't feel its gotten to that yet.
As for CVS.. I hope it gets worse :-) -- I agree if a LARGE volume of duplicate and irrelevant bugs start generating
lots of messages, but we're not there yet.

I can appreciate why one would want to have bugzilla/cvs emails mailed to a
single list, but i am not too sure if its risk free.

Quoting Danny Mui <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>:

Sometimes the bugzilla reports have 5+ entries that can bury messages on the list. It may introduce excess "noise" to users but I see your point. POI users are diferent, they're developers. They should read that stuff in the event they have insight on issues/bugs and pitch in.

Ok sold, switched my mail reader to sort - threaded. Go mozilla!

Cool, as far as automated messages...

AFAIK we only have
1. Gump reports
2. Commit messages
3. Bug reports

I read all three of those when they appear on the list...
