Just a little update - I moved to another machine where I have a newer
version of Excel and where I could build from the latest sources.

Trying them, when opening the "copied" file Excel complained about
broken sheet names (first, it says it could not read the file, then a
message box appears explaining that it has been able to at least
partially recover broken data... you probably know that one, huh? ;).

So I noticed I had some sheets containing german umlauts and renamed
them, that made at least the error messages regarding them disappear.
However, still the same report on opening.

I then removed sheets one by one until only one was left - still the
same. At that moment, I tried the last official POI release again - and
it worked. That is, I have a workbook with a single sheet I cannot
"copy" with the CVS snapshot, but with the official build.

Now that is different from my initial problem/posting - but maybe you
are interested in the sheet anyway? Do you want me to file a bug for it,
or just post it on this list, or whatever?

Best regards,
Matthias
