Thank you Andy for your reply. i was asking when POI ver 3.0 will be available. ( i mean at least any targeted month). The reason why i am so particular is that we have a release in OCT by which we should be able to say to the management that ver 3.0 is official.
When someone calls a vote and the vote is positive. Today it would be negative because I would vote no. (I don't regard HEAD as ready for a release as of yet)
There are a few things that need to happen before I'd like to see 3.0 released.
You want a date....I'm in Atlanta (yuck) at the moment and I left my magic dice at home...
Next is it correct to say that With POI, there can be no passwords, conditional formatting, rotated text, or rich text ?
There can not be encryption (now it is simply because no one has implemented it, I released my -1 on this earlier this year), dunno, I think you can do this but I don't remember how (I just remember writing a binary record object 5 years ago that dealt with the number of degrees), dunno ask shawn I think it was if it works yet (if so I owe him $100 and he needs to send me his address).
Of course if you think Excel encryption/password stuff is actually secure then go google for "excel password crack"... Its a really useless feature I think.
Does POI support array of formulas,or use logical operations (IF) or sheet references in your formulas?
IIRC, yes, yes, yes with varrying degrees of allowed complexity. I regard all software the way Ronald Reagan regarded the Soviet Union -- trust then verify (with junit tests).
