So, just checkout the latest sources (http://jakarta.apache.org/site/cvsindex.html) from the jakarta-poi module. Make your changes and do a cvs diff -u > mypatch.patch create a tar.gz or zip file from the jakarta-poi directory saving the relative pathnames for any new files (the patch contains the changes to changed files) create a bug in bugzilla, prepend the subject with [PATCH] and describe what its for. Post a short description in the description field. Submit the bug.
